Pathways Program

The primary goal of the Pathways Program is to promote safety and independence. Our staff works to ensure physical and mental well-being, to promote educational success, and to teach basic living skills necessary for a successful future. This is not a program meant to be "completed" it is more of a foster home setting on a residential campus. The Pathways Program currently has one open cottage serving up to eight girls. We are looking for houseparents to open another cottage!

Genesis

In the Genesis program we strive to promote safety and independence for both teen moms or pregnant moms and their children. Our staff work to ensure physical and mental well-being, prenatal and postnatal care, as well as teaching parenting and basic living skills necessary for a successful future for both mother and child. We are currently looking for houseparents for the Genesis program.

Transitional Living Program/Independent Living (TLP/IL)

In the Transitional Living Program (TLP) clients live in a cottage on campus with a houseparent, while clients in Independent Living (IL) live in their own apartments. Childhaven provides supervision, support, and subsidized rent, while clients pursue sustainable employment and/or attend Wallace State Community College. Clients can remain in either of these programs up to age twenty-one. We have one open cottage serving up to six girls.

Foster Care

Children across the state of Alabama are placed in foster homes that are licensed through Childhaven. We provide foster parent training and licensing right here on our campus. We act as the liason between our foster families and the Department of Human Resources (DHR).
