Bennett Cottage Renovation

In September of 2022 the Riverchase Church of Christ brought a busload of workers for a “demo day”. In the space of one morning, they managed to completely “gut” the house and clean up all debris! They removed flooring, kitchen cabinets, bathroom tile, and old vanities. Over the course of the winter and into the spring of 2023 we slowly began to rebuild and update this house. The update involved: new kitchen, new bathrooms, new flooring throughout, new doors and windows, etc. When it was time, a group came to help paint; another group brought a donation of new kitchen items; and a talented builder brought some hand-built custom tables. The entire renovation was funded by the Riverchase congregation. Bennet Cottage now houses our Transitional Living residents who have graduated high school and are taking college classes and/or working as they prepare to “age out of the system” and live independently. We are so grateful to Riverchase Church of Christ for helping make our houses feel more like a home for the girls we serve. Our campus has a total of 9 houses, and several of those could use a complete renovation like this and others could use some less costly updates. Please contact us, if you are interested in such a project.
